The Bells

The bells are a very pleasant and easy going ring. The ringing chamber is up a short, easy stair case.
Until 1901 there were four bells in the tower, three of them dating from c17. In 1901, these bells were recast into a ring of six bells, by Taylor's of Loughborough. In 1988, two trebles, cast by Eijsbout's of Asten (Netherlands), were added by Eayre & Smith.
The bells were originally rung from the ground floor, but in 1980, a new floor was built, and the ringing chamber was moved upstairs.

Ringing at Oadby

There is an active local band, which rings all levels from rounds and call-changes through to surprise major, and we regularly ring quarter peals. Ringers studying at University in Leicster also join us for practice and service ringing.  Visitors are always welcome.

We are always keen to recruit new ringers. If you think you might be interestes in learning to ring, either come along on a Tuesday evening (7:30 to 9:00), or contact the tower captain (Contact Us)

Oadby Ringing Centre

We normally organise regular training sessions on different aspects of ringing at the Oadby Ringing Centre.
